About
Umar Jamil Nasser is the
Presenter, Producer & Managing Director of the Red Sea Media
Productions.
He is a second generation Muslim American, from New York City, NY. Son
of JamiI (Joyner) Nasser of Memphis Tenn. He accepted Islam in the
1950’s from West African delegates to the United Nation’s in NYC. The
producer states that he was Muslim serving as a telecommunications
engineer in the USAF during the 1st Gulf War. It was during this time
that he was able to make Umrah and Haj for the 1st time. By the will of
Allah he was able to witness and participate in what ultimately resulted
in approximately 5000+ US soldiers accepting Islam. Presently, Bro. Umar
has been working and living in Riyadh Saudi Arabia for nearly 10 years.
“Those experiences in Saudi Arabia constituted a
spiritual turning point in my life. After my return to the USA I
resigned my position in the USAF~ United States Air Force and after a
few years returned to Saudi Arabia. After 911, I decided it was
important to use the media to address the many misconceptions in the
world about Islam and Muslims.” States Bro.Umar.
Mr. Nasser carries a continuously growing and valued experience in
educating the world about Islam via Video/Film Production. His work
proves that he holds an unwavering dedication and sincere enthusiasm for
documenting and sharing some of the in-depth realities of Islam here in
America. Presently he is preparing to take on yet another adventurous
production of Muslims in America for 2008. Once again Bro.Umar will be
returning to the United States for a month long adventure of
back-to-back filming. He and his production crew will travel across
America for exclusive interviews with selected Muslims. Last years
production of Muslims in America took Bro. Umar and his production crew
to travels throughout the country. The fact is that whether it is
productions being produced by mainstream companies, or independent
producers, the beauty of skillfully extracting this type of Dawah for
the sole purpose of educating others about Islam has increasingly become
one of the most effective resources.
Umar’s shows enter your homes and bring you face-to-face with everyday
Muslims. From an array of commonly well-known Muslim activist and
entertainers, to Native Alaskan reverts who have obviously sacrificed
much to strive to earn the pleasure of Allah. Viewers come to experience
and witness exactly how they are living through the beauty, challenges,
and their sincere dedication of being a Muslim in America.

I felt that the programs that I was producing
should not be restricted to broadcast on just one TV Channel. So I
formed the Company “Red Sea Media Productions” in order to be able to
“Tell the stories that need to be told …” and allow them to be
distributed in the world wide Muslim and Western Media outlets.
I have hosted 200+ episodes of my program "The Truth About Islam" for
Saudi TV Ch2. I have also produced and hosted the series "Islam In
America" for Saudi TV Ch2. I have also hosted and produced the series
"Muslims In America" for Huda TV.
Our objective is to produce films that create conduits of understanding
between Islam and the West. We are showing the world the true peaceful
nature of Islam and Muslims. Muslims have many beautiful & inspiring
stories, which, when told through Film, will help to humanize negative
opinions and negate many misconceptions about Islam and Muslims.
